Foam Cuts using Cameo, now I have even more uses for them as Stamps with MISTI

Cutting foam with my Cameo has been an obsession since I began experimenting with these foam cuts for use with clay/pottery.  Because now these very, inexpensive to produce, foam cuts have even more utility if the "positive" can be used easily as stamps, especially with the MISTI.  This wonderful tool enables restamping perfectly to get more vivid, bold stamped images (see previous Posting and video on how I do this).  I thought I would make it easy for you to crawl through almost 4 years of my experiments with cutting foam by providing direct links to those posts.  Before I do, I have this picture to show you how one cut from that Dollar Tree foam can provide two useful products.  You can actually use both sides (positive and negative) as stamps (or on gelli plate for those playing with that technique), but if any of you have friends dabbling with pottery/clay, you could give them the parts that create raised images, they will be very excited when they start using them.  I have actually sold some to many local potters here.

Latex resist on tiny terracotta pots from Dollar Tree

I have been playing with an experiment using little flower pots I bought from Dollar Tree 3 for 1$.  I wanted to use latex resist to decorate them.  The first video is here.

The heart form is a great way to try new techniques

I have the shapes precut sitting in a damp box, so whenever I want to try a new technique, they are ready.  I have been wanting to try the monoprinting technique I saw some time ago on Ceramic Arts Daily.  So yesterday I tried it and these two hearts were made using basically that technique but editing them after.  Interesting and different.  I think I can use this again.  It is a lot like gelli printing which I have looked at for paper/fabric, actually wet clay works a lot like the gelli base.  I think it was fun and will be interested to see it once glazed.  I will try this again too.  Here are some photos:  I started by using two flat hearts before shaping, one I covered with red underglaze, the other with deep yellow (didn't take a photo of the base yellow heart) then on the yellow heart proceeded to draw/apply other Underglazes, and smeared with fingertips, etc until I got something I could work with, then turned that over on top of the red Underglazed heart and rubbed---when I separated them, had two different images which I then edited, adding more blue underglaze to one, and finetuning some of the other features, lastly adding a silkscreen quotation from Bette Davis to the original one.

Then after letting them set up a bit, shaped them into puffy hearts:

Getting into Ceramic Jewelry

After lugging heavy pots, etc to shows, I have decided to try my hand at making some ceramic jewelry pieces.  A lot lighter and could be fun.  I will have to get busy getting them on chains, earwires, findings, etc., but here is a peek at some of the bits I have been making several using my silkscreens.  All of these are midrange stoneware, porcelain mix.  They are pretty I think and I might be able to do something with them. The ones with dark backgrounds are really a glaze that looks like silver, though it is hard to photograph and show as silver.
