"Undaunted"--thanks for comment. I have made two other pear boxes and both sold quickly, so I am at it again. To answer your question: No I don't have any pottery or ceramic equipment ---I work out of a studio that is 12 miles away. Fat Cat Pottery http://www.fatcatpottery.com/ is the place where I do my stuff. I get there about five or six days a week, working from 10:00 a.m. to about 4:00 p.m. I just move my things through the process along with everyone else. I often have to wait until the owner (Mary) has enough stuff to fire. They have four kilns. Sometimes I have to wait a week or more for each firing. Takes a long time to get things through the process.
Yeah, I have the same kind of problem at my class. My class is only 2 hours once a week, so it gets pretty tense waiting a whole week to see how a piece will come out of the kiln! 6 hours, 6 days a week sounds like a dream! Mary's kilns must be pretty big for it to take so long to fill them.
Ooh you have been busy! So many lovely things to see! Nice to see the finished tea set! But I especially like your pears :)
ReplyDeleteDo you have your own kiln?
